On March 27^th, in the springtime, the long-awaited first cloud orthodontic summit forum of 5 provinces of Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, and Xin Jiang was held online. With the strong support of the Silk Road Orthodontic Collaborative Group, this forum was jointly organized by Hospital of Stomatological, Lanzhou University and Gansu Stomatological Association, in conjunction with the Orthodontic Committee of Stomatological Association of other four provinces. Nearly 7,000 dental colleagues from all over the country watched the live broadcast of the conference through the Internet.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Ren Liling, School of Stomatology, Lanzhou University, and Director Wang Jun, Secretary General of Gansu Stomatological Association. Prof. Zhou Hong, Chairman of silk Road Orthodontic Committee, and Prof. Liu Bin, Dean of School of Stomatology, Lanzhou University delivered opening speeches.

The forum focuses on "risk prevention and control in orthodontic treatment" and invites many well-known scholars and orthodontic experts to exchange and share information.  Bai Yuxing，Director of Beijing Stomatological Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University, Ren Liling, Prof. of Lanzhou University School of Stomatology, Jin Zuolin, Prof. of Air Force Military Medical University School of Stomatology, Zhang Zuo, Director of People's Hospital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and Fang Bing, Prof. of Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, Prof. Ma Chenlin, Director of Qinghai Provincial People's Hospital, Li Weiran, Director of Peking University Stomatological Hospital, and Fan Yongjie, Director of the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical University gave wonderful speeches in turn, and explained the risk factors existing in orthodontic treatment and coping strategies based on case analysis. It plays an effective normative and guiding role for orthodontists to carry out clinical work smoothly.

The success of this forum has played a positive role in promoting the development of stomatology in the western region, and has also explored a new path for the development of stomatology in Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, Xinjiang, and Inner Mongolia.
